About me and active learning
I like working and playing with kids. One of the ways that I’ve used to be interactive with kids is through coaching team sports. I have coached both soccer and basketball for more than 20 years. Currently, I’m coaching a boy’s 7th grade basketball team. I enjoy the coaching/teaching aspect as well as learning from the players as to how they figure out how to play as an individual and with teammates. I have a professional background in biotechnology and have sometimes used my science experience with my players. As an example, I teach them about leverage and center of gravity when playing against taller and heavier players or physiology and muscle mechanics. It’s fun coaching these young people and seeing them grow and learn on and off the court.
